Solitaire Select

Solitaire Select

1. Solitaire-Select

I am the creator of Solitaire Select (20 games in one!) that is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App store.

Here is the description from the Play Store:

Solitaire Select is a growing and diverse collection of up to 20 Solitaire games, with a game selection that is fun for all skill levels. Play familiar games such as Klondike, Spider and Free-Cell, but also try less familiar games such as Yukon or Stalactites. Typical Solitaire features such as "double tapping to foundations" and "auto-winning" are implemented. For Solitaire enthusiasts, you can keep track of your winning percentages. Furthermore, Power/Super moves are implemented where applicable. Stay tuned for updates!

I made SolitaireSelect mostly because I really enjoy playing and learning new solitaire game types. I plan to add as many new game types as I can while also making a serious platform for solitaire enthusiasts.

2. Past

From my past, I was greatly inspired to make SolitaireSelect because of my grandmother. We used to see who could get a higher score in 2-Suit Spider Solitaire for a particular game. She would play a game and write her score down, and then restart that same game and then see if I could get a higher score or not. It was a lot of fun, and was how I learned how to play Spider Solitaire. This game-sharing score-competition that we engaged in, is the first major feature that I plan to add to SolitaireSelect. This is what 2-Suit Spider looks like in SolitaireSelect,

3. Present

At the present, I am enjoying the tracking of my winning-percentage for Klondike and just trying to win both Australian and Yukon! While playing "fastish" I am presently winning around 52-53% of Klondike games.

The Spider winning percentage is Danielle's and I have not played many Yukon games, because the possible winning percentages for that game are probably under 10%. The reason why the other games are blank is because when I build the app to test on a phone, the process deletes the records.

Anyway, Australian and Yukon are both really fun and have similar game playing rules. What makes both Australian and Yukon different from other solitaire games is that cards in a tableau are moveable regardless of the card that is selected. Although, like every other game, the move has to follow the prescribed rules for it to take effect. Download SolitaireSelect and try both of these games out. Here is what a card deal in Yukon Solitaire looks like,

4. Future

For the future, I am planning to add A LOT of features to SolitaireSelect and to release it to as many stores and platforms as possible. I won't share that much information with this post but I will share all updates here first! Also, I will probably make SolitaireSelect available to play on this blog. Stay tuned and in the meantime, download the app on your phone and learn how to play new solitaire games!
